Hey TLB fans, our 5th single from Vection is out now! The song is called Peace. Listen to it now for free her on our website (player embedded on the left) on Soundcloud, or if you really like it, buy it on iTunes, Amazon mp3, or listen on Spotify.

This song is a little more happy than our typical angsty style, for me this song is about the healing that comes when you find someone you emotionally connect with. When I first wrote it it was very mellow and acoustic (maybe I will release a version of that at some point in the future), but with some heavy guitars it turned into a great upbeat song. We experimented with some subtle electronic sounds in the studio, especially in the chorus, so let us know what you think!

Lyrics:
You light the fire and hand me the flame,
And I feel the burn!
You quench the ire and I shed my shame,
Now it’s your turn!

You bring peace to violence.
An olive branch where I’m entrenched.

I now aspire to this new frame, fill the cistern!
And you never tire, and there’s no more blame
And we touch and learn!

You bring peace to violence!
An olive branch where I’m entrenched.

And spade by spade we fill the holes.
You eat the rot out of my soul.
You catch the tears until I’m whole.
Yeah, until I’m whole!

You light the fire and hand me the flame,
And I feel the burn!
You quench the ire and I shed my shame,
Now it’s your turn!

You bring peace to violence.
An olive branch where I’m entrenched.

And spade by spade we fill the holes.
You eat the rot out of my soul.
You catch the tears until I’m whole.
Yeah, until I’m whole!

And spade by spade we fill the holes.
I’ll eat the rot out of your soul.
I’ll catch the tears until you’re whole.
Yeah, until you’re whole!

You bring peace to violence!
An olive branch where I’m entrenched!
You bring peace to violence!
An olive branch where I’m entrenched!

Hey TLB fans, this week we have yet another single from our album Vection. The song is called Abide. Listen to it now for free in the player on the left, on Soundcloud, or if you really like it, buy it on iTunes, Amazon mp3, or listen on Spotify.

This song is one of my favorites, and features a driving guitar riff, and a message about overcoming adversity. It’s a long song standing at 7 minutes – starting with some simmering and growing energy that climaxes in an amazing guitar solo by Chris Bloom, and a hard hitting chorus. I find myself coming back to this track again and again. This was one of the first songs to come to life in the studio, and have been anxious to share it with everyone. I hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:

You’re elusive whispers have gone mute.
The fear and pain arises amidst the truth.
And I can finally feel my boiling blood.
My sinews crack and strain underneath the flood.
And I am buffeted on all sides.
Spurned and berated, yet I abide.
Yet I abide; yet I abide.

I contemplate regret as I walk the past.
But deftly pick my footsteps all along the path.
And I can finally see what is wrong with me.
With singular vision I commence revision.
And I am buffeted on all sides.
Spurned and berated, yet I abide.
Yet I abide; yet I abide.

Don’t you discount me!
My gaze resides upon the Beacon!
This is the only scene
Upon which resides all hope and reason!

Don’t you discount me!
My gaze resides upon the Beacon!
This is the only scene
Upon which resides all hope and reason!

Hey TLB fans, this week we have another single from our album Vection. The song is called The Way It Should Be. Listen to it now for free on Soundcloud, or if you really like it, buy it on iTunes, Amazon mp3, or listen on Spotify.

This song is the oldest of the songs on the album, I wrote the music several years ago, but only recently was able to marry up some lyrics to go with it. It’s a little bit more mellow than the rest of the songs on the album – featuring an acoustic guitar and more spotlight on the vocals. This also got sliced and diced a million ways in the studio, but we finally settled on a really great version of the song that I’m really happy with. I hope you enjoy it!

Lyrics:

I’ve had it wrong from the start. Why didn’t you tell me?
I was oblivious and played my part. Why didn’t you stop me?
I gave it all of my heart. Why didn’t you shake me?
I never imagined us apart. Why didn’t you stop me?

Can’t you see the tears dripping from my chin? Why didn’t you help me?
I’m not the one who bears original sin. Why didn’t you stop me?
I’ve had it wrong from the start. Why didn’t you tell me?
I was oblivious and played my part. Why didn’t you stop me?

I’ve gotta get out. I don’t need anymore of your help.
I’ll find my way out, and I’ll find myself.
I’m on my own and that’s the way it should be!
That’s the way it should be. That’s the way it should be.

Do’nt you try to tell me ot come on home. Why didn’t you help me?
I don’t want to hear what you think I’ve done. Why didn’t you stop me?
I’ve gotta get out. I don’t need anymore of your help.
I’ll find my way out, and I’ll find myself.
I’m on my own and that’s the way it should be!
That’s the way it should be.
That’s the way it should be.

That’s the way it should be!

Hey TLB fans, we are continuing our release of singles from our album Vection – this week, I’m happy to share with you our second single, How Do I Feel? Listen to it now for free on Soundcloud (streaming in the player at left at the time of this post) or if you really like it, buy it on iTunes, Amazon mp3, or listen on Spotify.

The song is a little more punk than our other songs on the album, it’s obviously a breakup song, but it is fun and playful while a little raw and cathartic.

Lyrics:

I come bearing gifts of these
little pieces of shit that you
left inside my soul the day that I walked.
I hide these little packages
under bushels with my talents; these
reminders of a path that we stalked.
There’s no more for you to see here!
You’re so fucking pious and sincere!
I know of the blackness inside you.
You never had any interest in how I feel!
And how do I feel?
How do I feel?
How do I feel?
It’s nice that you finally asked.

We’ve come so far together
despite all of the stormy weather
it feels so strange not having you there.
But these binds have fallen from my wrists
and I see we no longer exist
and I have just enough time to spare.
There’s no more for you to see here!
You’re so fucking pious and sincere!
I know of the blackness inside you.
You never had any interest in how I feel!
And how do I feel?
How do I feel?
How do I feel?
It’s nice that you finally asked.
And how do I feel?

How do I feel?
How do I feel?
It’s nice that you finally asked.

So we were sitting at the table arguing,
then she said something for no other reason than to piss me off.
It was totally irrelevant and I was just like: Did you just say that? Fuck you!

I try my best not to look back
but this is an immutable fact
that you are always part of my breath.
I hold this close inside of my heart
and focus all I can on the part
of me that learned the most from our death.

And how do I feel?

How do I feel?
How do I feel?
It’s nice that you finally asked.
And how do I feel?

Oh, how do I feel?
How do I feel?
It’s nice that you finally asked!

Hey TLB fans, our album Vection was released on digital media last week, and this week I wanted to highlight one of the songs on the album that we are really proud of: Absurdism Apologism. You can stream it for free on Soundcloud, or buy it on iTunes, Amazon mp3, or listen on Spotify.

The song features a driving and powerful guitar riff, and some tones that we perfected in the studio and think are pretty kick ass. The lyrics as you will see are pretty philosophical and a little dark – but at the same time I feel like it is a very positive message about taking control of your life and facing the absurdity of existence. This is one of my favorite songs from the band that we have ever produced – I hope you like it!

We are going to have a show announcement very soon – so stay tuned!

Lyrics:

You can feel us inside your brain.
We hear you state the cliche, you think you’re going insane.
It doesn’t minimize the pain, it just means that you’re all the same.
Can’t you see your life is absurd?
Take a walk into the corral with the rest of the herd!
Would you take your life if we would just say the word?

What’s the fucking purpose of this motherfucking life
Why can’t I take away this fucking strife,
as I fucking stare at this motherfucking knife?

You can feel us inside your head.
You don’t need a gun you see, the truth is you’re already dead!
What do you choose to do, it comes for you, this pending sense of dread!
Do you search on high for a shining light?
Illuminate the chaos in the blackness of the night?
Or do you look inside your heart and find a fire burning bright?

What’s the fucking purpose of this motherfucking life
Why can’t I take away this fucking strife,
as I fucking stare at this motherfucking knife?

Hear the words spill from our mouths!
We set the rules; you’re out of bounds; and we’ll call the foul!
There’s only one way it all makes sense:
You set your rules, erase our bounds: your life can now commence!

You think you’re going insane!
The truth is you’re already dead!

Hear the words spill from our mouths!
We set the rules; you’re out of bounds; and we’ll call the foul!
There’s only one way it all makes sense:
You set your rules, erase our bounds: your life can now commence!

What’s the fucking purpose of this motherfucking life
Why can’t I take away this fucking strife,
as I fucking stare at this motherfucking knife?
